Our History

Founded in 1937, by Harold & Nancy Lindop, Westholme Nurseries began life as a smallholding with hens & pigs. They also grew vegetables for sale at the gate going on to grow & supply lettuce & tomatoes to wholesalers in the Potteries. Harold & Nancy grew two sons Jim & Geoff. Jim joined the business whilst Geoff pursued other interests.

Jim studied at Pershore College of Horticulture where he met & married Anne.

Following graduation Jim developed the ornamental part of the business, increasing the area for greenhouses growing bedding plants as well as tomatoes, chrysanthemums & pot plants for sale in the shop together with an expanding range of garden sundries.

Anne went on to study floristry, at Reaseheath College, and to develop the cut-flower element of the Nursery.

Jim & Anne produced three children - Stephen, Philip & Christine who are all an integral part of Westholme Nurseries.

Stephen studied Glasshouse Crop Production at Hertfordshire College of Horticulture & Reaseheath College, Philip attended Reaseheath College & Pershore College of Horticulture to acquire the skills of Garden Centre Management whilst Christine studied the art of floristry at  Reaseheath College.

Sadly Jim passed away in 2001 leaving Stephen, Philip & Christine to continue the Westholme legacy
